Allograft versus autograft in spinal surgery

Abstract
: Autograft is the gold standard in spinal fusion but it can add to surgical complication and morbidity. Fusion rates and clinical outcome do hot always correlate; sometimes these parameters may be melded together and make studies difficult to compare and hard to interperet. Trends for the future include multiple biochemical avenues. (C) Lippincott-Raven Publishers.
