Abstract
Synopsis: Rb-Sr whole rock dating of metamorphic basement has yielded an age of 2527 ± 73 Ma. This suggests that the crystalline basement of the NW continental shelf is at least partly of late Scourian age. Dated samples from two other wells recorded ages of c. 400 Ma and c. 700 Ma.Keywords
