Abstract
Attention is called to a sexual difference in the body length of Plethodon cinereus cinereus, the [male] as a rule being shorter than the [female] . The 2 color phases were found to be practically equal in number in various localities in the vicinity of Ann Arbor, and equally distributed between the sexes. Dissection of 91 mature [female] gave a variation in total egg complement of 5-13. Sexual maturity is believed to be attained at the end of the 3rd season or about 2 years after hatching. Dissections of mature [male] and [male] indicates a prolonged mating season beginning near the end of Oct. and extending through the first few weeks of spring, with autumn as the season of greatest activity. Spermatophores, in the form of simple sacs or bags, were found in the cloacas of 10 9 taken Oct. 31-Dec. 9. Food items are also listed. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
