Abstract
The rice leafroller (Lepidoptera; Pyralidae, Pyraustinae) in Fiji, long confused with Marasmia venilialis has recently been identified as Susumia exigua. It was studied on the Island of Viti Lew from August 1960 to August 1962. Incubation was 5 days; larval development, 4 weeks; and pupation, 9 days. There were 6 larval instars. Larval parasitization by the ichneumonid, Trathala flavo-orbitalis, averaged 35% on southeast Viti Levu but was lower on the "dry side". Larvae, pupae, and adults were killed by various fungi. Keywords
