Abstract
A 10-minute videofilm of computer-generated animations that demonstrate various global change themes using satellite data to the general public is described. Twenty-one agencies submitted global or regional data sets according to the themes requested. The data were taken by the American National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite-based Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR), the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Landsat satellite, the French Systeme Probatorie d'Observations de la Terre (SPOT) satellite, the Japanese ERS-1, and the European ERS-1 satellite. The animation techniques used and the application of the techniques are discussed. Keywords
