Abstract
Analyzing powers were measured for and elastic scattering from polarized at energies near the resonance. At =132 MeV the values of are significantly different from zero for . For at 132 MeV and for both and at all other energies, the are mostly consistent with zero. These data differ from the predictions of present pion-nucleus reaction theories, especially at large momentum transfers.
