Abstract
Androstenedione-4-C14 was incubated with tissue from the polycystic ovaries of a woman treated preoperatively with gonadotropic hormones. Radioactive cstronc and estradiol were isolated. The total amount formed approximated 15% of the starting material. The possible significance of such a relatively high yield is discussed. It has been demonstrated that human ovarian tissue converts testosterone to estrogens (1, 2), but in such low yield as to raise some question concerning the importanceKeywords
