Foreign-Body Type Reaction in Fat Cells.

Abstract
A foreign-body type reaction was observed in fat from rats fed diets containing high levels of saturated fat, i.e., fully hydrogenated lard, stearic acid, palmitic acid, ethyl stearate, and partially acetylated saturated monoglyceride. The lesion usually involved 2 or more adjacent cells among uninvolved fat cells and consisted of a multinucleated cellular reaction.
