Abstract
Results of numerous behavior-modification weight-reduction studies have clearly demonstrated that obesity can be controlled. It now seems time to move beyond the demonstration stage that weight can be controlled and to begin studying the problems of patient drop outs, standardized improvement measures, long-term maintenance, cost-effectiveness analysis, research strategies, the development of behavioral predictors, and an analysis of both successes and failures. Keywords
