Abstract
Serial orthodontic models of 36 habit and 42 non-habit children were studied. Records varied in length up to 167 months. Results were Arch form, incisor position and spacing, over-jet, and over-bite are modified. The effect on mandibular arch width is insignificant. Maxillary arch width, with the infrequent exception of the permanent canine area, is unaffected. The effect on molar occlusion merely approaches statistical significance and does not attain clinical utility. Keywords
