Abstract
Retractile mesenteritis is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by fibro-fatty thickening and chronic inflammation of small bowel mesentery. A case is reported in which the correct preoperative diagnosis was made. The nosologic problems posed by this peculiar lesion are briefly considered as well as the essential clinical features, pathology, and roentgen diagnosis.
