Abstract
Direct-injection enthalpimetry has been used to measure the hydroxyl values of some polyethers and polyesters. A determination in duplicate can be carried out in a few minutes, and it requires relatively little operational skill. The technique clearly has great potential as a method for industrial plant control. The accuracy of determinations is ± 1 to 2 per cent., which is adequate for commercial purposes, although the method is not as precise as some more lengthy procedures.
