Abstract
By making certain basic assumptions, the author has determined a theoretical expression for the contraction coefficient, C, appropriate to an orifice when transmitting a compressible fluid, either above or below the critical pressure ratio, provided that the corresponding value for incompressible flow, Ci, be known.Keywords
