Proton Particle-Hole States inPb208

Abstract
The structure of Pb208 has been investigated using the Bi209(d, He3)Pb208 reaction at 50 MeV. Angular distributions have been measured from 10-50° lab for 15 levels in Pb208. These states in Pb208 are considered to be populated through their [1h92, (nlj)1] proton particle-hole components. Spectroscopic factors have been extracted for each state and compared with those predicted by a recent random-phase-approximation calculation of Kuo and Brown. Generally good agreement between theory and experiment results.
