Abstract
This book looks at the progressive movement through the careers of four women, the first American women to be trained as social scientists in the research universities of late nineteenth-century America. The book looks at the impact of late nineteenth-century social science on reform and finds that the research universities were important intellectual determinants of the welfare state. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
