Abstract
An oxygen injector has been devised which can be utilized with the Jako suspension laryngoscope during microlaryngeal surgery without interfering with visualization of the operative area. Manometric pressure studies show acceptable air pressure levels at the true vocal cords and the carina. Arterial blood gas studies prove that more than adequate oxygenation of the blood is maintained. Carbon dioxide tension does not rise during the procedure, and acid-base balance is not disturbed.Keywords
