Abstract
The nonresonant multiphoton ionization of rare gases has been studied by means of XeCl, KrF and ArF excimer lasers. In the course of this study, it was observed that in the cases of the XeCl and KrF lasers, the ionization intensities of Xe gas were stronger than those of Kr gas, but in the case of the ArF laser, the former was weaker than the latter. This result is interpreted as an effect of laser wavelength. Keywords
