Abstract
impurities in Ca and Sr are studied by electron paramagnetic resonance. The has an [Ar] configuration and undergoes a Jahn-Teller distortion. The vibronic states for the equivalent tetragonal distortions couple to give an inversion splitting of roughly 10 .
