Abstract
It is essential that the Japanese national government sets up a comprehensive cancer program and establish an agenda for the future based on accurate Japanese cancer incidence statistics. To provide cancer incidence statistics is one of the fundamental aims of a population-based cancer registry. The Research Group for Population-based Cancer Registration in Japan has been making efforts to prepare national cancer incidence estimates since it was established in 1975.Keywords
