A comparison of tritiated and iodinated tracers in the radioimmunoassay of progesterone in cow milk

Abstract
Progesterone levels in the milk of cows were determined by 2 radioimmunoassay methods. Excellent correlation (r [correlation coefficient] = 0.95) was found between the method using an iodinated radioligand and that using a conventional tritiated tracer. Determination of milk progesterone levels by radioimmunoassay provide an early indication of pregnancy status in the cow.
