Abstract
The de Haas-van Alphen effect has been studied in Zr in fields up to 57 kG. The five previously reported frequency branches have been observed as well as two new ones. The symmetry-axis frequency values have been determined with an uncertainty on the order of 0.1%, and the angular dependence of all the branches has been firmly established. It seems unlikely that any Fermi-surface model presently available can account for these results. All but one of the cyclotron masses associated with these oscillations have been measured at the symmetry axes. Except in one case these mass values are greater than the free-electron mass. Keywords
