Abstract
Ear tags impregnated with flucythrinate and ear tapes containing permethrin provided horn fly, Haematobia irritans (L.), control for 17 and 15 weeks, respectively, on dairy cattle. Stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.), were controlled for 10 weeks. On beef cattle, 7 weeks were required for flucythrinate and fenvalerate tags to completely eliminate horn fly populations, possibly due to increased horn fly tolerance levels to pyrethroids. Use of ear tags and ear tapes in an integrated pest management program is discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
