Abstract
A modulated molecular beam mass spectrometer has been developed to measure the concentration of unstable species produced in a fast gas phase chemical reaction. The molecular beam was formed by allowing a portion of the reacting gas to leak through a sampling slit into a three-stage differentially pumped vacuum system. The beam was modulated by an electromagnetic chopper and analysed using a quadrupole mass spectrometer. Keywords
