Abstract
Two globulin proteins which increase vascular permeability under experimental conditions have been separated from sera of normal young men by the techniques of ethanol fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, and starch block electrophoresis. The first, A, has the characteristics of a gamma globulin, while B is a beta globulin. Both A and B are inhibited by the esterase inhibitor substances diisopropyl phosphofluoridate and soy bean trypsin inhibitor. Neither A nor B is inhibited by the antihistaminic agent diphenhydramine hydrochloride. It is suggested that A may be the same as serum kallikrein, and that B may be the same as PF/dil.Keywords
