A comparison between interlitter and intralitter variation in rats with respect to the healing of rachitic bones by vitamin D

Abstract
By carefully designing expts. required for comparisons of the vit. D potencies of certain preps. it was possible to use Fisher''s method of analysis of variance and to show that the intralitter variation of the rats was much greater than the interlitter variation. It was then obvious that "litter mates" should always be used in biological assays of vit. D.
