Abstract
Twenty-six displaced fractures of the proximal phalanx of a finger were treated by closed reduction, percutaneous pin fixation, and early motion, which was obtained by taping the injured finger to an adjacent one. The major advantages of the method are that no external immobilization is required and that patients are able to return to their jobs sooner. In this series, eighteen of twenty-one patients (twenty-six fractures) regained a full range of motion within eight weeks following injury. Keywords
