Abstract
The classical theory for the scattering and absorption of electromagnetic radiation by a homogeneous isotropic sphere is extended so as to apply to a sphere in which dispersive plasma oscillations exist. Computations performed for small metallic spheres predict the appearance of an absorption structure in the frequency region just above the plasma frequency. Keywords
