Abstract
Several independent lines of evidence point to the fact that some aspects of memory decline with age. Many older individuals identify memory as a significant problem in daily living. Memory performance in laboratory and psychometric studies typically declines with age both cross-sectionally and longitudinally. And a substantial number of those who reach very old ages are so impaired in memory that they are labelled as having “dementia.”Keywords
