Abstract
The bis(cyclopentadienyl) complexes [U(cp)2Cl2 –x{HB(pz)3}x](cp =η-C5H5, pz = C3H3N2, x= 1 or 2) have been prepared and are stable with respect to disproportionation, whereas the corresponding complexes with the H2B(pz)2 ligand are not. The complexes [M(cp)Cl3 –x{HB(pz)3}xLy][M = Th, x= 1, y= 1, L = Me3CCONMe2(dmpva) or y= 1.5, L = MeCONMe2(dma); M = U, x=y= 1, L = PPh3O and x= 2, y= 0], [U(mcp)Cl2{HB(pz)3}](mcp =η-methylcyclopentadienyl), [Th(cp)Cl2{H2B(pz)2}(dma)1.5], [Th(cp)Br2{HB(pz)3}(dmpva)1.5], [U(cp)Cl2{H2B(pz)2}Ly](y= 2, L = PPh3O; and y= 0), [U(cp)Cl{H2B(pz)2}2(PPh3O)2], and [Th(cp)Cl2{B(pz)4}] have also been prepared. Infrared, u.v.–visible (solution and reflectance, uranium complexes), and 1H n.m.r. spectra are reported.Keywords
