6D2fine-structure mixing in rubidium induced in collisions with ground-state Rb and noble-gas atoms and withN2molecules

Abstract
The following cross sections for 6D3226D522 fine-structure mixing in Rb, induced in collisions with ground-state Rb and noble-gas atoms and with N2 molecules, have been measured using previously described methods of atomic fluorescence spectroscopy: Q(6D3226D522)=17.3, 6.6, 6.1, 5.3, 8.5, and 6.4; Q(6D3226D522)=11.6, 4.5, 4.1, 3.6, 5.5, and 4.1, for Rb, He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and N2, respectively, in units of 1014 cm2. Upper bounds of cross sections for the effective depopulation of the 6D2 states were also determined.
