Abstract
The surface tension at the melting point 1953 k of two grades of liquid titanium was measured using an electron bombardment drop weight method. The result for the purer material was γ 1588 dyn cm1. An explanation is given of the rotation of the pendant drop when direct current heating is used and the inadequacy of the `ideal drop' concept is briefly discussed. Keywords
