Abstract
Oxygen saturation was detd. on blood from the pulmonary arteries and veins of lobes or lungs in 8 patients subjected to surgery. Findings suggest that no pulmonary arterial blood flowed through the collapsed and functionless pulmonary tissue and that there was retrograde flow of blood from the bronchial to the pulmonary arteries. Keywords
