Abstract
The experimental data for the time and dose and energy dependence of the recovery in substage ID and IB of electron irradiated Pt are compared critically with the results of full diffusional treatments of the correlated plus uncorrelated recovery of interstitial-vacancy pairs. An excellent agreement is obtained if in the theoretical treatment three-dimensional migration of interstitials is assumed. In contrast to this the assumption of one-dimensional interstitial-migration (off-line-crowdion-model) leads to serious disagreements with the observed dose dependence of stage IE. In addition, the strong dependence of the recovery structure in substage ID and IE on the energy of the bombarding electrons predicted by the crowdion model is not observed experimentally. Keywords
