Abstract
The application of computer-generated holograms to the interferometric testing of aspheric reflecting elements and spherical refracting elements has been investigated. A new technique for calculating the hologram and drawing it with a computer-controlled plotter has been demonstrated to provide holograms that reconstruct the required wavefront with an RMS error of better than λ/20, and interferometers developed that employ the holograms in a null-test of optical elements without impairing this accuracy. Keywords
