Abstract
The topic of A TP and high-energy bonds may be taught at a simple level to pupils taking Biology at GCE Advanced level. The relationship between what is taught for Advanced level Biology and in the physical sciences is considered in this paper, and areas of misconception and confusion are discussed. A coherent view of the topic is suggested for school biological studies. The understanding of this subject shown by pupils is investigated, and comparison is made of the knowledge shown by pupils who are combining Advanced level studies in Biology with Chemistry and those who are not. Keywords
