Abstract
The aim of this research is to cover the energy needs of a house, which does not have any other energy source, by using wind power. A house in Izmir, where the wind velocity values of 1998 are known, and five different wind turbines were studied. The daily energy use of the house was determined and batteries were used to obtain a continuous energy. For each wind turbine the number of batteries needed for continuous energy was calculated and a financial analysis of each turbine and battery system was carried out.
