Abstract
A transmission loss of 0.25 dB/km at 1.57 μm wavelength, which is comparable to that found in commercially available single-mode fibres, has been demonstrated in PANDA optical fibres. A crosstalk of −29 dB in a 2.4 km length, which corresponds to the mode coupling coefficient of 5.2 × 10−7 m−1, has been found in the 1.55 μm wavelength region. Keywords
