Abstract
The Bem Sex-role Inventory was administered to 135 sophomore, junior and senior nursing school students at the University of North Dakota [USA]. The sample included 13 males. The percentages of female subjects within the nursing school sample who were classified as androgynous, feminine, masculine and undifferentiated were presented. This distribution was statistically different from the percentages found at the University of North Dakota in 1976 and 1977 for the female samples. Of the nursing students, 51% were characterized as feminine and just 4% as masculine. Lack of aggressiveness, assertiveness, leadership, and risk taking on the part of nursing students was discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
