Abstract
A variety of psychoacoustic procedures was administered to three subjects—one with normal hearing, one with cochlear disorder, and one with VIIIth nerve disorder. Auditory tasks included discrimination of loudness, pitch, and temporal order; critical off-time; and speech intelligibility. A number of differences in response pattern were noted. Both theoretical and applied implications are discussed. Keywords
