Abstract
Spectra induced by 5- to 130-keV impact on have been observed in the visible region. Principal features are , , and hydrogen Balmer emissions. Absolute cross sections have been determined for excitation of the (0,0), (0,1), (1,0), (2,0), (3,1), and (2,1) bands of the first negative system of . Cross sections for populating the levels of the state of have been estimated. Cross sections for exciting some lines have also been determined.
