A new method for spectroscopy of liquid surface waves over the frequency range from 500 Hz to 40 kHz

Abstract
A simple method has been developed for measuring the propagation of liquid surface waves over a frequency range from 500 Hz to 40 kHz. A new type of electromagnetic wire transducer was successfully employed to generate liquid surface waves at such high frequencies. Surface waves were detected by an optical probe with spatial resolution as high as 30 μm, which determined the high‐frequency limit of the measurement.
