Abstract
Three male patients in the late acne age group experienced a sudden episode of papulopustular acne of the face, shoulders, and back after two to four weeks of intravenous hyperalimentation. Upon cessation of the feedings, the acne involuted spontaneously. The pathogenesis appeared to involve nutritional factors since the attacks could be specifically related to the use of a new synthetic intravenous diet in which L-cystein, L-tyrosine, and L-glutamic acid were absent. Keywords
