A Note on the Weight of the Rat during Gestation

Abstract
Piebald rats were used. Number of young in each litter was reduced to 6 and the doe returned to the bucks at the end of the suckling period (21 days). In 363 cases out of 403 litters born, the mother gained weight during gestation. The gain appeared to be of constant occurrence and took place on poor as well as on good diets.
