INHERITANCE OF CLUBROOT RESISTANCE IN CABBAGE (BRASSICA OLERACEA L. VAR. CAPITATA L.)

Abstract
Two clubroot-susceptible cabbage cultivars, Red Acre and Golden Acre, were crossed with the resistant line, 8-41. F1 data showed that susceptibility was dominant over resistance and data from F2 and backcross progenies supported a duplicate gene hypothesis. Genes Pb1 and Pb2 were proposed to designate susceptible loci. All genotypes of these two genes were susceptible except the homozygous recessive pb1, pb1, pb2, ph2, which was resistant.
