Abstract
Terms like "quantitative" or "measurement" have taken on a variety of meanings in the literature of the behavioral sciences and, to avoid confusion, we must make explicit what these terms mean in this paper. Briefly, we are describing how one goes about using interaction measurement to study an organization when it is regarded as a complex system. We will outline how these measurements are made, what the guiding hypotheses are underlying the procedure, and what steps are taken in following it out. Keywords
