Abstract
In 103 trematodes of the sp. Catoptroides lacustri the variations of 2 commonly used characters were studied. Position of the testes (symmetrically placed or not) and presence of a posterior notch exhibit variations too great to warrant their use in taxonomic systems concerning these worms. Rates of growth of different organs were compared. It was noted that the acetabulum grows at a greater rate than the oral sucker does and that the body length increases at a greater rate than either the oral or ventral sucker. It was further noted that growth of the uterus alone does not account for the increase in the length of the distome. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
