CLINICAL COMPARISON OF SCANS AND SCINTIPHOTOS OF THE THYROID GLAND

Abstract
One hundred consecutive thyroid rectilinear scans and scintiphotos were obtained. The two modalities of imaging were compared and evaluated. The Gamma camera was found to produce superior images in a fraction of the time required for a rectilinear scanning. The triple lens Polaroid camera produced images of extremes in density, thus amplifying defects and/or differences in uptake within the thyroid gland.
