Abstract
A mathematical model based on the linked dominant adaptive gene hypothesis was developed, computations made by a digital computer are given, and the results compared with the experimental data. The second chromosome recessive lethal, 1(2)55i in Drosophila melanogaster is apparently involved in an extensively examined case of single gene heterosis. The hypothesis that 1(2): 55i might be closely linked to a dominant gene is tested and rejected. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
