Abstract
Hyperparathyroidism occurred in 4 members of a family, involving 2 generations. The tendency for involvement of multiple parathyroid glands and for recurrence was prominent, illustrating the necessity for a thorough surgical exploration and a long follow-up. Awareness of the familial syndrome resulted in early treatment of 3 of the 4 affected members, possibly avoiding the damaging renal effects of prolonged hypercalcemia. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
