Abstract
Inguinal herniography with positive contrast medium is a useful method to evaluate patients with known or suspected anomalies of the inguinal region. The technique of herniography is described and the interpretation of the normal and abnormal herniogram is discussed. Herniography is most useful in the search for an open contralateral peritoneals sac in patients with clinically unilateral hernias and in the evaluation of patients with histories of hernias or "bulges" but with negative or inconclusive physical findings. Keywords
